Vicky Yang
Professor, Tufts University
Dr. Vicky Yang received her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Materials Science and Engineering, and then completed her DVM and veterinary cardiology residency training at Tufts University. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Her research group investigates the role of microRNA and inflammation in canine heart diseases, including mitral valve prolapse and cancer treatment-associated cardiovascular toxicity. As these canine diseases are similar to their human counterparts, her lab also uses the dog as translational models for human diseases. She also works directly with veterinary patients to manage their heart diseases and participate in veterinary clinical trials.
