Kejun Ying

Kejun (Albert) Ying, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine and the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington, where he works with Tony Wyss-Coray and David Baker. He received his PhD in Biology and MS in Computational Science and Engineering from Harvard University, where he trained with Vadim Gladyshev. His research integrates aging biology, causal inference, machine learning, and protein design. His work introduced causality-enriched epigenetic clocks that distinguish molecular damage from adaptive responses during aging. His honors include an NIH/NIA F99/K00 fellowship, the 2026 WAIC Yunfan Award, and selection as an NIA Butler-Williams Scholar. His current research develops AI-enabled biomarkers and de novo proteins to measure and target age-related decline and neurodegeneration.
