Alfredo Viegas
Managing Director, Oaktree Capital Management
Alfredo Viegas is a Managing Director on the Emerging Markets equity team at Oaktree Capital. Mr. Viegas joined Oaktree in 2018 from Castlemaine LLC / Comac Capital LLP, where he was a partner and portfolio manager. Prior thereto, he was a managing director and portfolio manager for the Principal Investment Strategies at Nomura Securities International. Additionally, Mr. Viegas has served in portfolio manager roles at Tiedemann Investment Group and Advent Capital Management. He began his investment career with Cambridge Associates before moving on to emerging market equity analyst roles with Morgan Stanley and Salomon Brothers. Following that, he was a portfolio manager and co-founder of Stratos Advisors and VZB Partners, one of the earliest Emerging Markets hedge funds in the mid 1990s. Mr. Viegas received an M.S. in from Swinburne University of Technology and a B.A. with honors from Wesleyan University.
